Intrinsic and extrinsic values …
While work continues on the outer facade, the studio interior is also becoming more representative with every day. The speed at which the floating screed is being laid is more than presentable. The perfectly coated supports and the fine-pored appearance of the freshly plastered walls will make the new studio even more attractive.
A solid foundation for the next step ...
The weeks are passing by, the studio is taking shape. The preparatory work for the floor coverings is in full swing. Once the underlay has been evened out, a professional moisture barrier (polyethylene sheeting) installed and insulation strips affixed, the floating floor screed, able to cope with loads of up to half a tonne per square metre(!), will be laid over the next three weeks.
Gooooaaaal!
Athletes and fitness freaks will get their money's worth at the new Wiethe Studio: there's a lot of muscle training going on this week with the construction work on the large-scale main gates. Just two weeks have been scheduled for the reassembly of the weighty steel giants. An athletic performance that will keep the builders on their feet for the whole playing time.
From 0 to 22 °C in a matter of minutes!
When it’s cold outside, we turn the heating on indoors. In the new studio, this will be achieved by the roughly 240 metre long ceiling-mounted radiant panels. After a brief “revving-up” period, the panels ensure that the warmth is distributed evenly throughout the 4000 sqm studio area.
After the final painting work in the interior, the insulation of the exterior walls will also be completed this week. It’s equally essential that the big access doors close reliably. The workers will be busy refurbishing and remounting them this month.
Wiethe - full speed ahead!
The crucial phase is now being entered with the rough assembly of the heating and ventilation systems, and the sanitary installations. Only theoretically, of course. After all, construction work at the new studio has already been in full swing for weeks.
Installation of the plasterboard walls commenced last week. The work, set to take about four weeks, will lead to the separation of the individual studio areas. The pleasant working atmosphere at the new studio will be optimally supported by the insulation of the outer walls.
Comprehensive measures ...
Riding high: the prefabricated floor for the second level. Just delivered, and tested for fitness, the sound-proofed floor made of load-bearing prestressed concrete takes its specially reserved place on the new steel girder framework, ready to take the weight of the large office area as soon as possible.

No sooner said than done: what’s now at the top of the agenda - highly topical, so to speak - is the move to the second level. To this end, the individual pieces of scaffolding that have been delivered will be put together on a supporting surface of around 530 sqm and placed at a height of 3.50 m between the prepared columns.
A separate room for studio equipment
The XXL sized partition wall has been erected, the brickwork now reaches the ceiling and all grooves and gaps have long been closed. A separate room to store the necessary technical equipment is already being planned - including a storage room on the ground floor especially for the video and photographic equipment. Cameras and so on will be perfectly accommodated in this specially secured separate room - ready and waiting for the next photo shoot.
Stability that goes really deep.
Holes to the very depth of 14 m as the basis for the studio management? It sounds strange, but it’s true. This great depth is desired - after all, it has a stabilising effect on several pillars: the second floor will soon be secured over the huge cavity using special auxiliary equipment. And as you can clearly see on the photos, gigantic boreholes require equally gigantic drilling machines ...
It's going on!
Space is now being made for the planned water pipes. Walls and floors are being gouged out, transforming parts of the studio into a wet pit. The material needed to continue the interior work is already piled up beside the “partition” - the wall separating the warehouse from the studio area. The whole shell has a light, friendly appearance, not least because of the large windows, which will remain intact in the new photographic studio -technically modernised, it goes without saying!
