A solid foundation for the next step ...

The weeks are passing by, the studio is taking shape. The preparatory work for the floor coverings is in full swing. Once the underlay has been evened out, a professional moisture barrier (polyethylene sheeting) installed and insulation strips affixed, the floating floor screed, able to cope with loads of up to half a tonne per square metre(!), will be laid over the next three weeks.

In the next few days, both the flooring and the gypsum plaster walls will undergo a facelift. Manual finishing touches will close the largest joint gaps, creating a really smooth surface texture. After this step, the equipment room and storerooms will be spick and span, ready for their first coat of paint.

The workers are also on track to complete the rough assembly of the electrical system and heating plant. The outlook for the coming week promises to enable an exciting start to the interior construction.
